The AFLPO 2019 Gala, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, April 17, 2019
This year has been the AFLPO’s most financially successful year to date. Much of this achievement was due to the 2019 New York Gala which raised in excess of $310,000. The evening took place in in the Weill Music Room at Carnegie Hall and featured performances by Jeremy Denk and Members of the LPO.
The AFLPO paid tribute to composer Howard Shore who received the Lifetime Award for Achievement in Classical Music. Shore has worked with the LPO on his most iconic soundtracks, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
Guests were treated to the esteemed eloquence of auctioneer Hugh Hildersley MBE with lots including Tea & Pimms at the House of Commons with Nigel Evans MP; a private recital with tenor Kang Wang; and a week’s stay for eight people at a luxury villa in Provence.
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and made this event such a success.
